Your Guide

An officially certified Rome Tour Guide who shares our passion for the city and its unique cuisine. She/he is also a foodie who will reveal anecdotes and secrets around the recipes and uses of what you’ll be eating. Furthermore, our guide will provide you with plenty of information that you will find very helpful to experience Rome and its food in a non- touristic way, over the time of your stay.

What you will explore

The Centrale Montemartini Museum, a witness to precious antiquities and at the same time an eclectic example of Rome modern industrial architecture building as well as the Gazometro – which we will be able to admire too.

Rare insights of buildings of the Roman Empire, such as Porto Fluviale (Tiber River harbor), which dates back to the most ancient times of Rome, the Piramide Cestia, erected in late Republican age (1st  century b.c.) , and the Aurelian Walls, a sign of the upcoming decadence of the Roman Empire.

The evocative Non-Catholic Cemetery in Rome (refereed to as “The English Cemetery” among Romans), witnessing the international character of Rome through the centuries, hosting to this date the tombs of Keats and Shelley.

The famous and lively Testaccio Food Market: the old site (left in July 2012) and the new covered structures, along with the former “Mattatoio” (i.e. Slaughterhouse) where meat was once prepared, host today to an important artistic Building Complex (the Macro), and featuring an extremely lively Farmer’s Market over the weekend.

The  “Monte dei Cocci” (literally “crock mount”)  whose  eateries at the end of 19th century started the creation of the “coda alla vaccinara”.

The itinerary is suitable for both adults and children.

Let’s meet at the meeting point at 9.30 am on the selected day!
